Taking a hands-on approach, King works closely with management compiling research and design into areas of accomplishing what the marine and customers states, “cannot be done.”
King began his professional career at a very young age in the San Gabriel Valley area of Southern California, beside early performance boating enthusiasts, Jack Rex (Rex Marine), Tommy Barron (Barron Boats), and Paul Fitzgerald. Before coming to Prime Marine, King served as operations manager for Traders Truck Accessories where he was responsible for overseeing, shipping, product design, and showroom space planning. King has also been promoted to positions of general management, and new product development within a variety of companies including: Rex Marine Hardware, Bernie’s Boat Works, and Arden Tire.
King first became associated with Prime Marine in the late 1990’s when he laid the foundation for Prime Marine’s start-up. Approached by avid ski-race entrepreneur, King managed, built, and maintained Prime “Time” Marine’s 1st class water-ski race team sending many boats to the International World Ski Races. In 2001 king left to pursue General Management interests at elsewhere, but retuned in 2003 to work with fabrication technology and new product development in a more hands on approach.
Formulating several years of marine related experience, Mike King continues to expand Prime Marine with well-recognized installations on Custom Boats that have placed the company in high profile with a variety of Marine Publications. A ski-race and hockey enthusiast, King resides in the Greater Pomona Valley.
